Standard Colosseum tickets put you on the upper tiers looking down. Underground and arena-floor access is a different visit: you stand where the fighters entered and walk the hypogeum corridors most visitors only read about. Access to those areas is restricted and sold through authorised operators, which is why we think a tour beats a plain ticket here.
